Check out North Carolina State University.  They have one of the best textile chemistry programs in the country!  Upon graduation, you're sure to find some work with the upholstery/furniture industry that's located in the area, as well as the carpet/fabric industry in Northeast Georgia, just a couple hours away.

As far as scholarships are concerned, you might look up their website.  The admissions department could tell you about some merit based scholarhips, as most need-based scholarships are reserved for in-state or at least domestic students.

I've included the link to the university, as well as the Textiles department.  Top notch!

    Best of luck!

Although there are many colleges which provide training for textile chemistry and engineering, such as Georgia Tech, most of the major textile colleges are centered in North Carolina. Schools such as Gaston College or North Carolina State University College of Textiles will be good to contact for information. Many schools do offer scholarships for foreign students and specifically try to recruit foreign students for more diverse idea exchanges and cultural experiences on campus. Each college you are interested in will have a financial aid office you can talk to about the scholarships offered by that particular school. Additionally, you can search for scholarship opportunities which can be used at the school of your choice. Scholarship information  can be found in reference books at any U.S. library and sometimes online at websites such as the ones I have listed as links below.
