Tips to Succeed at William & Mary

Go to your professor's office hours and ask for help.

Don't write papers the night before they're due.

Don't take a huge course load—14 or 15 credits is plenty.

Find an extracurricular niche—classes are important, but they aren't everything.

Don't freak out if you don't get the classes you planned on during registration—no one does, and besides, you may end up loving one you never intended to take.

Use the Writing Resource Center.

Find a special place to study—whether it's your room, the library, or the patch of grass under a tree—find a place where you can concentrate and get the work done.

Go to all of your classes every day.

Don't stress out—find ways to balance out the tough academic workload with relaxing activities.
