In addition to his novels, Claude Simon published La Corde raide (1947; the tightrope), a journal containing various impressions of the Spanish Civil War and World War II as well as reflections upon painting and writing; Orion aveugle (1970; blind Orion), an art edition that includes portions of his novel Conducting Bodies along with reproductions of several paintings mentioned in the text; and Femmes (1966; women), a series of commentaries on paintings by Joan Miró.
