Concept of "love" in Christopher Marlowe's times.

I am doing a critical essay project in my Brit Lit class. I have chosen a thesis, and would like to convey how Christopher Marlowe shows in Hero and Leander, how the triumph of passion and appetite/hunger for passion/love can sometimes destroy us if we don't learn to drive them properly.

My teacher has asked me to write this paper displaying the concept of "love" then, and here and now as well and how they differ or may still be the same in some ways. He mentioned "courting" and stuff like that.. HELP!

Everything and anything would be appreciated.
THanks.
