The second spirit, the Ghost of Christmas Present, is referring to the other 1,800 Christmases that have gone by since the birth of Christ - remember that Charles Dickens wrote A Christmas Carol in 1843, so there were approximately 1,800 Christmases since the very first Christmas. Scrooge's nephew's house The purpose of showing Scrooge these places was to show him how people kept Christmas. Even out at sea, etc. people were celebrating Christmas.
