Man v. man is the more obvious conflict in the story.  Mr. Martin and Mrs. Barrows are completely at odds with one another.  She wants to downsize the department and get rid of him and he wants to make her appear to be crazy to get rid of her.

Man vs. man certainly stands out as the clear conflict: Mr. Martin wants to "rub out" Mrs. Barrows.  So, man vs. man is evident; however, one could argue that it is man vs. society because the story actually reflects this unfortunate truism in today's society where people are out to get you in various venues, be it legitimate or with cruel intentions.  Man vs. society requires deeper analysis, and you would certainly need to specifically defend your reasoning.
