I personally beleive that he would be George.W.Bushfor the reasons that they both beleive that everything in the world is going just fine when really there is utter chaos. Another reason is that they bothare tangelled up in their own little worlds, and are pretty retarded! Posted by william08 on May 16, 2008. |

If Pangloss were a president, I'd have to go with Ronald Reagan. Reagan was the main president in recent history –and, I believe ever—to be as overwhelmingly positive as Dr. Pangloss. I'd have to say that Reagan's ideology was also as resistant to change as Pangloss', and experience had as little impact on him and it as it did on Pangloss. Posted by gbeatty on May 16, 2008. |

Reply to #2--had I not seen that you chose Reagan, I would've sworn you were describing Bill Clinton. Especially with regard to the experience part...nothing seemed to faze him. Just smile into the camera, jog to McDonald's, and everything else in the world will fall into place. Posted by amy-lepore on May 19, 2008. |

In reply to #3: with the notable exception of course, of being "resistant to change". Many of Clinton's legislative achievements were in the realm of "triangulation", which basically meant taking a Republican Congressional idea, spinning it slightly to get enough Democrats onboard, and releasing it into the wild.
