Traditions
- Arabian Horse Shows
On the first Sunday of every month during the school year the horse shows are held to show off WK Kellogg's Arabian horses. This has been a tradition since the horses were first introduced to the campus in 1949.
- Bronco Fusion
An event held usually before the day that school begins in fall quarter. The event is put on by various on-campus organizations and helps new students get acquainted with the campus and provides food and entertainment. Bronco Fusion also features live musical acts, such as the performance by the Plain White Ts in 2006.
- Cal Poly Rose Float (Club)
Cal Poly Pomona and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo work together each year to construct a float for the yearly Pasadena Rose Parade. The tradition first began in 1949. The 1949 float is the first student-entered Rose Parade float ever.
- Hot Dog Caper
Right around every October, thousands of hot dogs are given out to students to celebrate the new school year. The event is sponsored by various organizations on campus, and live bands or local DJs usually perform.
- Pumpkin Festival
A yearly event held since 1992, the public can attend the festival held by the Farm Store to pick their pumpkins out of the patch and participate in various activities during the month of October.
