School spirit is the biggest thing that Cal Poly lacks. If you ask students what the school mascot is, you'll be lucky if they give you an answer at all. Even the cheerleading squad doesn't ever seem to have that much spirit. The University and ASI try their best to promote school spirit by hosting events and handing out things like Bronco spirit bands, but it doesn't seem to make much of a difference. One of the main reasons why there isn't much spirit probably has to do with the fact that CPP is a commuter school—not enough people are on campus long enough to be proud of it!
