"Barn Burning" was made into a television play that was telecast on August 17, 1954. Gore Vidal did the adaptation, and the cast featured E.G. Marshall. Some of the material from "Barn Burning" was adapted for The Long, Hot Summer, released in 1958 by Twentieth Century Fox. The cast of the film included, Paul Newman, Joanne Woodward, Orson Welles, and Lee Remick.
