Know the slang, know the school. The following is a list of things you really need to know before coming to Bucknell. The more of these words you know, the better off you'll be.

An outdoor patio area located on one of the roofs of Swartz dorm.
- Blue-Stucco
Popular party house.
- The Bison
A popular food court located in the LC.
- C-store
A place to get snacks and candy.
- The Courtyard
A computer area in the library where many students meet for projects.
- Downhill LC
The entrance to the LC, located on the northern end of campus (Students often meet here).
- Fire-Escape
Usually a popular party house.
- Frat Row
Where many of the fraternities are; located behind the library.
- The Gateways
Upperclassmen, apartment- style housing.
- The LC
The student center, where the mailboxes, bookstore, and many eating venues are located.
- Mixers
Small gatherings between a fraternity and a sorority.
- The Mods
The trailerpark, small on-campus houses.
- PS
Public safety.
- The Penis
A grotesque looking statue located in front of Vedder Hall.
- The Pit
The basement of Vedder hall. There is a study area, vending machines, and a TV room.
- Points
Bucknell's punishment system.
- Registers
Large fraternity parties that have an invite list.
- Ride Board
Located in the LC, where people can sign up for rides with other students to different states.
- The Ski lodge
A study room in McDonnell Hall.
- The Suite
Any of the sorority suites in Hunt Hall.
- The Taj
– Often a popular party house.
- Uphill LC
The entrance to the LC located on the southern end of campus. (Students often meet here.)
