I think that the discussion questions I would select would be connected to the major themes in the work.  I would ask questions such as how the role and power of love is depicted in its many forms throughout the story.  Another question would center around the role of human freedom and "other forces" such as curses and the fuku.  A great question would be to analyze the role of physical appearance and emotions:  What does the work say regarding how one's physical appearance is connected to emotional condition?  I think that another good discussion question could seek to analyze the condition between artistic creation and internal happiness.  Finally, I would borrow a quotation for Benjamin Constant's novella Adolphe:  "Nature can never justify the breaking of another person's heart."  Assess this quote in light of Oscar's story.  These questions address major themes of the work and can envelop a fairly strong discussion of the work and the ideas that emerge from it.
