The inhabitants of Brave New World are conditioned to love the feelies, to participate in soma rituals, and to participate in pastimes which consume resources and improve the economy. When Lenina spouts hypnopaedic slogans she is spouting them from her conditioning by hypnopaedia and by the mass media.
