   The target of hypnopaedia is to condition people, from their infancy up, to fit into the niche that society has carved out for them. It is one of the fundamental principles of order in BNW, in that it helps to program children with the ideals that will keep them happy and productive. For instance, they are programmed to hate reading and to love sex, to hate flowers and to love their work, to hate anything old and to love anything new. All of these things keep people in their place, which, in turn, keeps society running smoothly.
