Apart from the impossibility of all the scientific fantasies of the Brave New World coming true, the biggest hurdle in way of Brave New World becoming reality is the establishment of a powerful totalitarian government at the helm of affairs. With the failure of the U.S.S.R. model of government and dismantling of U.S.S.R. it self the chances of development of an all powerful government controlling the whole world have appear very remote. Also many of the negative trends of the scientific and economic development, which form the basis of some practices envisaged in the novel are no longer as critical as they used to be. For example many of he ills of assembly line production, particularly deskilling of the labour force have been reversed. Today the number of knowledge worker is increasing rather than decreasing.
