Although there is a Greek System at Boston University, it is rather small with only about 8% of students participating.  There are 9 fraternities and 9 sororities; all are non-residential.

The Greek scene is pretty quiet on campus. There are actually 20 fraternities and sororities, but none of them dominate college life. While there are always some students who do pledging and whatnot, most avoid the Greek Life. As far as I know, BU Greek Housing is banned on campus (you'll generally find MIT Greek houses), so it never got really popular.
