What are the political and social leanings of most students and faculty? Is it easy to express opposing views?

It appears that the majority of the school's population is liberal/Democratic. There's currently a BU for Obama group on campus with a large following. However, most students and faculty aren't ardent or particularly fiery about their political views. While you'll certainly run into a few professors or students who'll want to convert you to their party, most of the school is tame and open to other views. In the political science classes I've taken, the professors managed to keep their personal beliefs out of lectures and were open to different thoughts and perspectives.
