I think the primary responsibility is to ensure that you are comprehending what the question is asking of you. This might mean for you to ensure that all parts of it are addressed and understanding what constitutes a quality answer. The next step is to identify portions of the text that would substantiate whatever answer you propose. I think this might be where the most challenge emerges in answering a literature question. It is critical to ensure that you are able to find textual support and evidence to substantiate your answer. In addition to this, making sure that these excerpts and ideas are concurrent with the answer to the question will be critical in answering a literature based topic.
