Claude is in his senior year of college when he meets Lady Powers. They fall in love, and Claude discovers that Lady is Catherine’s cousin. Lady’s parents do not approve of Claude because he is a musician. Professionally, Claude’s career is growing. He performs a concert tour with the famous violinist Frescobaldi, playing to enthusiastic audiences in several cities and even at Carnegie Hall.
