The Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarship

Sunday, April 29th by jenna

The Zonta Foundation has been offering scholarships to young women pursuing an undergraduate degree in business since 1929. According to the organization’s website, one of the primary goals that it has worked towards is “addressing the challenges to women’s equality in science, business, public affairs and government by providing critical financial support through programs aimed at furthering women’s education, leadership and youth development.”

The Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarship is just one of several award opportunities that is available to women all over the world. This scholarship is specifically for outstanding female students pursuing an undergraduate degree in business who have demonstrated their potential to succeed as a leader in the field. It is a $5,000 award that can be used towards tuition, books, or other school-related costs at an accredited university.

In addition to the application, which can be found on their website, students must have:

  • A letter of recommendation from a faculty member.
  • A letter of recommendation from an employer or other supervisor.
  • A 500 word essay that discusses your academic and professional goals
  • Verify enrollment in the university
  • The award process has three phases. After the completion of these phases, which are also descibed in detail on the organization’s website, 5 scholarships will be distributed to distinguished candidates.

Deadlines vary each year so call a Zonta Club near you for more information, or visit their website and download an application.
