Philip Roth, You Also Just Got Dissed, Yo!

Has no idea what “dissed” means
While Roth was celebrated for not being dead yet, Sarah Weinman decided to put the author in an environment that, while maybe not as celebratory, we can all consider far more appropriate. Note: There is some very foul language and adult situations. If this bothers you, may I suggest watching how to beat Super Mario Brothers in five minutes.
And speaking of bad words, there are many more from Ed discussing a panel with Nicholson Baker and a really angry Lee Siegel. Siegel just hates blogs, and the entire internet. That, of course makes a ton of sense, since it unceremoniously backfired on the man. I’ll let Ed do all the heavy lifting but how Siegel can still show his face in public blows my mind. If you need anymore back-up, check out this interview where he defends his hubris with hubris.
Did you watch that Mario Brothers thing? Really, the whole thing? Ok, well here’s the sequel in 12 1/2 minutes.
Two new books about General Custer. No idea why anyone would put another Custer book after this guy, but good luck dudes.
And finally, a little history about Shakespeare and a little jab at President Bush. In a similar note, here’s an annoying video of Obama talking about books and former Pres. Clinton’s 21 favorite books. We already know McCain loves For Whom the Bell Tolls, but of course we can’t leave out Romney’s favorite novel.
