Hope Dale Peck Likes Pie…

In an apparent showing that even some of the most heated literary feuds can come to a silly, kind of lame end, Rick Moody will finally have a chance to settle his score with Peck in a delicious way. At a fundraiser, Moody will hurl a pie at Peck’s face and everyone will hope it’s cherry and that Peck’s horribly allergic to cherries. Ok, maybe not everyone. Maybe there are even people on Peck’s evil side. Either way, I’m sure there will be video up that we will post the second we get a chance.
And speaking of people who I wouldn’t mind seeing pie-in-face’d, here’s Jonathan Franzen trying to talk his way out of Oprah-gate.
The Millions was responsible for the last one, but I just happened to stumble onto audio of Anthony Burgess accepting an award for Stanley Kubrick’s adaptation of A Clockwork Orange.

And finally, Cynthia Ozick is the fortunate recipient of awards and piles of money for being awesome. Ozick was awarded two prizes, one in the name of Nabokov and one in the name of Malamud, for her continuing work in the literary community and for just being a damn fine writer. So congratulations Ms. Ozick, and sorry Peter Ho Davies, who had to share the Malamud one.
