Say you’re lonely and looking for company. Maybe even a serious relationship. Well, forget Eharmony or Facebook. Those places only have mostly creeps. Head over to The Atlasphere where you can really get weirded out by a bunch of Ayn Rand fanatics. And don’t worry, if you really have to need to get knee-deep in the most pretentious relationship of your life, you can pay ten bucks a month for bonuses like full names and dating photos. I was going to sign-up but when my zipcode was required I’ll admit I chickened out.
Thanks to Paper Cuts for the last link, and thanks to Fernham for her promotion of Anne Enright. The author gave a reading/interview with some band called Camphor, and Fernham now only saw the event but also links to video. The interviewer is a little annoying, but Enright reading into Camphor doing their gloomy adult contemporary is pretty satisfying. Also, here’s a snippet from her book, The Gathering.
The Guardian and Ed talk about James Wood’s new book. One is much nicer than the other.
Bookslut wants us to read about drunk authors. Yeah, ok.
And finally, writer Taslima Nasrin can’t leave her house because of religious nutballs. She literally cannot leave her house or be visited by anyone. India says it’s for her safety and she understandably disagrees. I know, no one wants to get their heads chopped off or whatever, but how about we see some guts on behalf of free speech?

To be clear, that is the fantastic Nigel Beale, not me. What next? Will you be confusing the number of books that James Wood has written?
