    As is the case with Edgar Allan poe stories, "The Black Cat" is narrated in first person point of view, and his name is never revealed.  The reader does know that he is a man and that he is scheduled to be executed.

    in the story it was never said.but in a lot of mr edgar allen poe's poems/storys the names are never revealed.
