    each chapter is its own story in a very figurative way, there is no real "climax" persay. Black Boy is a memoir not a novel exactly. Its told in bits and pieces that Richard remembered from various parts of his life. but to answer you question, its really very ope ended, i supose when richard moves from living with aunt jody and his uncle back w/ his grandmother and mother he really seems to grow up and accept his poigant life.
