Billy Budd Group
Question:
In Bill Budd written by Melville explain why Melville seems have presented conflict in terms tied to place.
I'm having a hard time reading Bill Budd. My professor want us to show an example or element of positon, place or setting in "Billy Budd" that seems to correspond to a conflict involving Billy. Like in chapter 10 when the ship lurches, Billy spills his soup, giving Claggart an excuse to persecute Billy. Then in Chapter 25 the ship's movement causes the hanged Billy not to have fallen, but to have ascended. I'm confused!
