The Beast in the Jungle Group

Question:

How does James' work in "TBITJ" make him distinctive as a realist?

How does the story explain and illustrate (for the reader) the key characteristics of James' particular brand of realism?-- specifically his focus upon "invisible" aspects of life and on individual relationship, which for James is the source of experience (rather than, say worldly adventures).
