Susan Faludi was born in New York City on April 18, 1959 to Steven Faludi, a photographer, and Marilyn Lanning Faludi, an editor. When Faludi’s Backlash: The Undeclared War Against American Women was released in 1991, the book received honors and postive and negative criticism for its controversial content.
