Babbitt | Characters

Babbitt is the central character around whom all the others move. He is a real estate agent in a time of prosperity. However, although he is prospering, he does not shun unethical behavior, and he has no moral concern for the people he dupes in his various "deals." Babbitt is proud of himself and his house that is exactly like every other house inhabited by his peers. He is comfortable with his devoted wife and with his three children.
