Edna's Pigeon House is hers alone. It is small and intimate. It allows her quiet and solitude. I also allows her the independence to discover her true self, the person that exists beneath the facade that has weighed her down from years. In the Pigeon House, she is free from her children and her husband, and she is her true self.Sources:
