Kate loved performing from a young age and used to charge her family admission fees to hear her sing! She has won many operatic awards from Elizabeth Muir Prize (2000) to the Horace Keats Prize (2002). She has performed in such things as Venus and Adonis (2002) and Orpheus in the Underworld (2000). She was about to turn her attention to Gilbert and Sullivan productions with Opera Australia when the fever for popular music and songwriting caught her due to the popularity of her song Space They Cannot Touch (Telegram) became a hit in Australia.
