British cinema is a much smaller concern than Bollywood or Hollywood. It produces only a few films a year based at the Ealing film studios. In the past it has been responsible for the 'Carry On' films, James Bond, Four Weddings and a Funeral, Slumdog Millionairre and Trainspotting. Finance is always an issue and the BBc or Channel 4 will often part finance movies, in the past George Harrison the Beatle with 'Handmade Films,' helped finance the Monty Python 'Life of Bryan' films and also put on 'Withnail and I.'

So the British film industry is small but with a degree of quality and success!
