An idealized vision of peace and harmony in the New World. Representatives of Pilgrim-settler society and Native American society are sharing a meal together. The Native American taking the offered turkey is probably Squanto. Perhaps Chief Massasoit (also with a feather headdress) is seated there along with other braves. Their weapons are left idly on the ground, and we see a peace pipe. Among the white settlers are families and officials. The bearded man with the book may be a clergyman or Pilgrim Governor William Bradford. Everyone seems calm, respectful and loving... emotions befitting the spirit of sharing a bountiful life and of giving thanks.
