Yubetsu
Yubetsu [CP].A late Palaeolithic tradition of obsidian working in Japan dating from c.11 000 BC; also known as the Shirataki technique after the type-site at Shirataki-Hattoridai, Japan. The method of working was used widely from Mongolia to Alaska and involved a bifacial core which was then turned into a wedge-shaped core by flaking off one lateral edge.
