Tanum, Sweden
Tanum, Sweden [Si].Coastal region of Bohuslän which contains a major concentration of Bronze Age rock art sites. The panels are mainly on glacially smoothed rock surfaces and include depictions of ships, ploughing scenes, warriors armed with spears and battle-axes, carts, and possibly sun discs. Ships with fighting warriors standing within them and numerous oars for propulsion are especially distinctive.[Sum.: J. Coles, 1990, Images of the past. Uddevalla: Bohusläns Museum]
