Paiján Tradition

Paiján Tradition [CP].
Pre-Ceramic (Archaic) Stage hunter-gatherer communities flourishing in north and central Peru in the period c.9000–7000 BC. Characterized by PAIJÁN POINTS. Paiján tradition communities may have been among the first in the region to exploit marine resources on a significant scale. Snails and lizards also seem to have been used as food sources at the site of Pampa de Fosiles 13, Peru.
