George I

George I (Elector of Hanover) [Na].
British monarch from AD 1714, of the House of Hanover. Born 1660, son of Sophia (daughter of Frederick, elector palatine, and Elizabeth Stuart, daughter of James I) and Ernest Augustus, elector of Hanover. Married Sophia Dorothea, daughter of George William, duke of Lüneburg-Celle. Died AD 1727, aged 67, having reigned twelve years.
