D-shaped barrow
D-shaped barrow [MC].A class of chambered tombs dating to the 3rd millennium found in central and northern parts of the British Isles where the stone-built chamber is set within an earthen mound or stone cairn with a D-shaped outline. The chamber opens from the flat face. In the north of Scotland these are also known as heel-shaped cairns.
