Antony and Cleopatra Group
Question:
Can one say that Antony's nobility increase towards the end of his life span in the play?
The way in which he conducts himself and responds to certain difficult situations. e.g When Enorbabuos deserts him in the middle of a battle.

Posted by jamie-wheeler on Monday May 7, 2007 at 9:29 AMDespite Enorbarbus's treachery, Anthony generously sends his treasure after him. Enobarbus, who has been called a Judas-like figure by critic Stephen Greenblatt, "is destined to die shortly thereafter, his heart broken by Antony's generosity."
Antony, of course, makes his final act of nobility by literally dying on his own sword. But before he does, he makes on last attempt to protect Cleopatra. He whispers, "One word, sweet queen./Of Caesar seek your honour with your safety. O!" (4.16.48-49)
