How does Anne's decision to stay at Green Gables not change her ambitions?

    Although Anne decides to stay in Green Gables she is just as ambitious as ever.  She has only changed the object of her ambitions.  She is determined to save Marilla's eye sight and keep up with the care of Green Gables.  Anne is also determined to be a good teacher and will be teaching at Avonlea.  She has plans to do her studies from home.  Anne also tells Marilla that she has dozens of plans.  She is going to give her life at Green Gables her best, and believes that she will get the same in return.
