Answers:

  1. Anne wishes her mother were sweeter, more loving, and less sarcastic.  She has in her mind an idea of "what a perfect mother...should be", and finds no trace of that image in her own (Diary entry 7 November 1942).  She fights frequently with her mother, and says that she has become "insensitive to any love from her side" because, with "her tactless remarks and her crude jokes", her mother has completely pushed her away (Diary entry 2 April 1943).

Very Short Synopsis- She wants her to be someone to look up to, not a friend or a enemy.
