My first impression of Anne is that she is smart, passionate, well spoken and has a good head on her shoulders. While she is still typical young adult, she comes across as a bit of an old soul.

Her character comes alive through the diary that she receives from her father for her birthday. The diary is a part of her, a part of who she was. She comes alive to whomever reads her words. Not only is she relatable, but you can almost feel the emotions that she felt.
