    In the Old Major's speech in Chapter I of Animal Farm, he declares early in the speech that he had a dream the night before.  While he refrains from referencing it directly throughout the remainder of his speech, when he does come around to discussing it, the narrative changes.  Rather than the Old Major conveying the content of the dream to the other animals, he places his narrative point of view within the song "Beasts of England."  The song, which speaks of an end to human control over the animals, serves as the Old Major's words.  This indirect form of narrative is a form of a lyrical narrative.
