Snowball planned a three-fold defense against the neighboring farms and the role of the geese, sheep, and pigeons was to stall and prevent the humans from getting to the bigger animals by biting, pecking, and dropping items on them. He learned his tactics from reading tactics in various war manuals. He also was awarded a medal of honor for his bravery and valor during the battle.
