Why do androids deserve the same opportunities and rights as humans?

I just want 3 or more reasons, as to why androids deserve to have the same opportunities and rights as humans. If it's possible, please explain a bit about your reasons. Thanks

    Andriods are just another race of human. Therefore they are just like any other minority- be it black or hispanic.

    If the andriods are 3 laws compliant, they are not a threat to humans and could not abuse their rights.

    If there are andriods that can think on their own, how are they any different from a human?

    It's really the center of the book; what seperates the androids from the humans? What makes you human? This is a keynote in almost all the works by Phillip K. Dick.
    The interesting thing is, that when the difference between humans and animals are discussed, it's with the basis of intellect; that the humans are further developed. Or, that we are more civilized. Here, the androids are doing better in both conditions.

    The androids are more "civilized", when it comes to not being caught away by their emotions. They cannot understand the passion of sexual affairs, neither the religious feelings of the Mercerism. They do not hesitate to kill the spider, and experiment on it.

    But an important note is still, that it was the humans, that started the theird world war, and the humans that enslaves the androids, hunts them and kills them!

    So what is worse? What matters? And what is the "goal", meaning, what is it, that makes a human worth anything?

    That's really the question of the book, and cannot be answered, only discussed.
