What are classes like? Are professors accessible? Are classes challenging?

Since AU is not a huge state university, the classes usually wont exceed 200 people. And if they do, they are usually lecture-style intro classes to major topics, such as macro and micro economics and psychology. After those classes, the classes get substantially smaller. The average class size is about 27 students, which definitely differs according to the subject. We are fortunate enough to be in a small enough college that class sizes usually aren't a problem.

For this reason, students get to form better relationships with their professors. All professors have office hours throughout the week which makes it easy to get extra help.

As far as challenge is concerned, it really depends on the subject material and the professor. Some intro classes are very broad and straightforward, yet some general ed. requirement classes, while being 100 levels, can be pretty structured and demanding.
I feel classes here are reasonably a step above high school classes, but they're definitely not impossible!
