Introduction

The State University of New York/Institute of Technology, founded in 1966, is a public institution offering programs in technology and professional studies. There are 4 undergraduate schools. In addition to regional accreditation, SUNYIT has baccalaureate program accreditation with ABET, CAAHEP, and CCNE. Computerized library services include interlibrary loans, database searching, Internet access, and laptop Internet portals. Special learning facilities include a learning resource center, art gallery, and TV station. The 850-acre campus is in a suburban area. At the western end of the Mohawk Valley, Utica is the natural gateway to the Adirondack Mountains and the Thous and Islands. Including any residence halls, there are 7 buildings.
