Introduction

Queens University of Charlotte, founded in 1857, is a private liberal arts institution affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). Undergraduate programs are offered through the College of Arts and Sciences and the Pauline Lewis Hayworth College, a division offering courses in the evening and on Saturday. There are 2 undergraduate schools and 1 graduate school. In addition to regional accreditation, Queens has baccalaureate program accreditation with ACBSP, NASM, NCATE, and NLN. Computerized library services include the card catalog, interlibrary loans, and database searching. Special learning facilities include a learning resource center, art gallery, rare books and archival collection, photographic lab, ceramics studio, and recital hall. The 25-acre campus is in a suburban area 2 miles south of uptown Charlotte. Including any residence halls, there are 29 buildings.
