Introduction
Hanover College, founded in 1827 and the oldest private college in Indiana, is a liberal arts school affiliated with the United Presbyterian Church. In addition to regional accreditation, Hanover has baccalaureate program accreditation with NCATE. The library contains 222,782 volumes, 44,951 microform items, and 10,015 audio/video tapes/CDs/DVDs, and subscribes to 1667 periodicals including electronic. Computerized library services include the card catalog, interlibrary loans, database searching, Internet access, and laptop Internet portals. Special learning facilities include a learning resource center, art gallery, planetarium, radio station, TV station, and a geology museum. The 650-acre campus is in a rural area 45 miles north of Louisville, Kentucky. Including any residence halls, there are 35 buildings.
