Introduction

Alaska Pacific University, founded in 1957, is a private institution offering undergraduate programs in business administration, elementary and middle school education, environmental science and outdoor studies, liberal studies, and psychology. Adult Degree Completion Programs are offered in Organizational Management, Accounting Information for Management, Human Services, and Health Service Administration. The library contains 760,423 volumes, 559,496 microform items, and 1032 audio/video tapes/CDs/DVDs, and subscribes to 3430 periodicals including electronic. Computerized library services include the card catalog, interlibrary loans, and Internet access. Special learning facilities include a learning resource center, art gallery, radio station, TV station, and an Alaskana Collection located in the Consortium Library. The 170-acre campus is in a suburban area in midtown Anchorage. Including any residence halls, there are 7 buildings.
